Atherstone is a charming Market Town in the Heart of England
Atherstone is a charming market town in North Warwickshire. It has a population of c. 8000 and acts as the administrative centre for the borough, which has a total population of c. 60,000.
Historically, Atherstone was built on the hatting industry, but this has since ended. New industrial estates, warehouses, retail shops, pubs, and cafes offer employment opportunities at all levels.
Atherstone is easily accessed by major motorways – the M42, M40, M1 and M6 – plus the Railway Station which offers direct services to London Euston and Crewe, which is ideal for commuters.
With the decline of the mining industry previously sited close to the town, our area falls under the Coalfield Regeneration schemes.
The town has a historic centre based around St. Mary’s Church and the Market Square. Tourism is an ever-increasing sector in the town, with Atherstone being a popular stopping point on the Coventry Canal.
