What does the Town Council do?

  1. We are the burial authority and manage the Cemetery on Sheepy Road Atherstone, dealing with enquiries regarding burial and ash plots
  2. We own and manage the Shopping Arcade at 71/73 Long Street
  3. We manage the Market Square; there are weekly markets on a Tuesday and Friday, throughout the year various events also take place
  4. We manage two allotment sites at Gypsy Lane (off Sheepy Road) and Merevale (off Bracebridge Road)
  5. We have two play areas at St Marys Road and Westwood Road
  6. For CCTV we are in Partnership with NWBC for the provision and maintenance of the CCTV System which is being upgraded in 2020 – delayed due to Covid 19.
  7. The Town floral displays
  8. Annual Honorary Citizen Award
  9. Funding grants for Local Community groups
  10. Plan the Town Christmas lights

What we don’t do

The following services are provided by North Warwickshire Borough Council at The Council House South Street Atherstone CV9 1DE.

NWBC opening hours are Monday to Friday 09:00 – 17:00 however due to Covid 19 the NWBC offices are closed but telephone lines are open from 08:30 to 17:00 hours Monday to Friday.
