Mayor’s Charity 2024-25 Cheque Handover

On 16th July, Mayor Cllr Sara Bishop attended St Giles Hospice’s annual coffee morning at Chapel House Hotel to present a cheque to the Mayor’s Official Charity 2024. Over the course of her mayoral year, Cllr Bishop raised over £1,500 for St Giles Hospice through hosting a range of civic events: a Civic Service in September last year, a Civic Reception at Dickens 2024 last November, and a Charity Quiz in April 2025.

The cheque was gratefully received by Community and Events Officer Charlotte Mills (pictured) and St Giles’ volunteers. Cllr Bishop hopes to repeat this year’s success for a new Mayoral Charity in 2025-26.
