Councillor Jacky Chambers

Mayor/ Chair

Councillor Jacky Chambers was elected to Atherstone Town Council in 2019 to represent Atherstone Central Ward and is currently Mayor / Chair of the Town Council for 2026/27.

Jacky is a member of the Atherstone CCTV Partnership Group and the Open Spaces Working Group. She has helped support the town’s monitored CCTV and Town Watch radio scheme, and has a particular interest in community safety, St Mary’s Playground, parks, play, young people and pride in Atherstone’s public spaces.

Her wider community interests include tackling social inequalities, improving opportunities for children and young people, and supporting inclusive outdoor recreation. Jacky is also a founding Director of Ruby’s Yard CIC, a volunteer-run, not-for-profit canal-side community space offering opportunities for outdoor recreation, adaptive paddling and nature-based activities.

Jacky is married with two children and also an occasional folk musician.

North Ward Councillors

Mick was co-opted onto the Atherstone Town Council in November 2025 and is currently Deputy Mayor working alongside Town Mayor and Councillor, Jacky Chambers

Mick is a member of the Communication and Engagement group and is working with current town councillors, to promote the activity of the wide range of Town Council committees.

He has been a member of Atherstone Cricket Club as a player and Club Chair, and has been a member of Atherstone Adders Hockey Club since he moved to the town in September 1978. He has been Mens 1st team Captain, Club Chair and held several other roles on the playing, coaching and governance side.

He is interested in bringing the benefits of sport and recreation to everyone, but particularly youngsters within the North Warwickshire  area. He is also working towards bringing together the wide range of wellness and recreation groups across the area in order to provide a co-ordinated voice and vision to wellness, recreation and competitive sport.

His personal interests include hockey and cricket and he also likes to listen to, and occasionally perform most genres of music.

Mick is married and has a son.
